Region 2 covers a lot of ground: fast-growing Front Range cities like Fort Collins, Loveland, and Greeley, plus wide stretches of the Eastern Plains where the closest Medicaid therapist may be in another county. Rocky Mountain Thrive is in-network with Northeast Health Partners (NHP), and all of our therapy is online, so members in Sterling or Lamar have the same access as members in Windsor.
We serve Region 2 members in Fort Collins, Loveland, Estes Park, Greeley, Windsor, Evans, Fort Morgan, Brush, Sterling, Julesburg, Holyoke, Yuma, Wray, Akron, Burlington, Limon, Elizabeth, Kiowa, La Junta, Rocky Ford, Las Animas, Lamar, Springfield, Eads, Ordway, Cheyenne Wells, and the communities around them.

Every Health First Colorado member belongs to a Regional Accountable Entity (RAE), also called a regional organization, that manages Medicaid behavioral health benefits like therapy. Your RAE depends on the county where your primary care provider is located.
Northeast Health Partners is the RAE for Region 2, which includes these counties:
Baca, Bent, Cheyenne, Crowley, Elbert, Kiowa, Kit Carson, Larimer, Lincoln, Logan, Morgan, Otero, Phillips, Prowers, Sedgwick, Washington, Weld, and Yuma.
Not sure which RAE you have? It's shown on your Medicaid ID card in the Health First Colorado app and on your enrollment letter. You can also call Health First Colorado Enrollment at 1-888-367-6557, or upload your card during intake and we'll look it up.
Most Cigna medical plans include outpatient mental health benefits, often managed under Cigna's behavioral health brand, Evernorth. Typically that includes:
Individual therapy: 45–60 minute sessions with a licensed therapist.
Telehealth sessions: For state-regulated plans, Colorado law requires telehealth to be covered on the same basis as in-person care, with cost sharing no higher than an in-person visit. Self-funded employer plans set their own rules, but most cover video therapy.
Your exact cost depends on your plan, deductible and whether you've met it. We verify your benefits before your first session. You can also call the behavioral health number on your Cigna card or log in at myCigna.com.
In July 2025, Colorado consolidated Health First Colorado's regions from seven to four, and Region 2 nearly doubled in size. If your primary care provider is in Larimer, Elbert, Otero, Crowley, Bent, Prowers, Baca, or Kiowa County, your RAE may have changed to Northeast Health Partners at that time.
NHP also changed how it manages behavioral health. Its behavioral health network is now run in partnership with Rocky Mountain Health Plans, replacing the previous administrator. If you see a new name on letters about your therapy benefits, that's likely why. NHP remains your main point of contact.
As an NHP member, your Medicaid benefits generally include:
Direct access. No referral from your primary care provider is needed to start therapy.
Little or no cost. Covered outpatient therapy is generally available at no cost to Health First Colorado members.
Video sessions. Colorado Medicaid covers telehealth, so online therapy is covered like an office visit.
Assessment and ongoing therapy. An initial behavioral health assessment, then individual therapy, plus family or couples sessions when tied to your treatment.
Extra support for kids and teens. Members under 21 have expanded coverage through EPSDT.
Care coordination. NHP care coordinators can help connect you with other services, like rides to medical appointments.

Please review our financial policies carefully before your first appointment
We require all insurance information (both primary and secondary) to be uploaded as part of your appointment request. We verify benefits before confirming scheduling to ensure we accurately understand your coverage and can match you with the best-fit therapist for your needs.
We do require a credit card on file for all clients (even if you have Medicaid). The requirement is in case your insurance lapses we have a means to charge for the session. No charges are otherwise allowed for Medicaid. For commercial plans, we will charge the card on file if you have a co-pay.
Appointments canceled within 24 hours or missed without notice will incur the full session fee (we do not charge a fee for Medicaid clients). More than two late cancellations or no-shows within a six-month period may result in termination of care, as consistent attendance is essential for providing ethical and medically necessary treatment.
