Finding a therapist who takes Cigna can mean scrolling through directories, sending messages, and hearing "not accepting new clients." Rocky Mountain Thrive is a Colorado group practice that is in-network with Cigna, so you work with us directly instead of through a marketplace.
Every session is telehealth, through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. That means the same care whether you live in Denver, Colorado Springs, Aurora, Fort Collins, Boulder, Pueblo, Grand Junction, or a mountain town where the nearest in-network therapist is an hour's drive away.
H2: Why Cigna members choose Rocky Mountain Thrive
In-network with Cigna: You pay your plan's in-network cost share, and we submit claims to Cigna for you.
Benefits checked before your first session: No surprise bills from a coverage question nobody asked.
Statewide telehealth: No commute, no waiting room, no hunting for a provider in your town.
Colorado-licensed clinicians: Every therapist is licensed or registered with Colorado DORA, and we tell you each clinician's credentials up front, as Colorado law requires.
Evidence-based care: Approaches like CBT and EMDR for anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationships and life transitions. [Confirm modalities your CO team actually offers.]
Couples and family therapy: Our practice is led by a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, so relationships are a core strength, not an add-on.

Aetna offers several plan designs in Colorado, and most include behavioral health benefits we can bill:
Open Access and PPO plans. You can usually see an in-network therapist directly, with no referral.
HMO and managed choice plans. Many still let you schedule therapy directly, since behavioral health often has its own access rules. We'll check whether yours needs a referral.
High-deductible plans with an HSA. You'll pay Aetna's contracted rate until your deductible is met, which is usually much lower than a self-pay fee.
If you're not sure which you have, the plan name is usually printed on your card. You can also upload it during intake and we'll figure it out.
Most Cigna medical plans include outpatient mental health benefits, often managed under Cigna's behavioral health brand, Evernorth. Typically that includes:
Individual therapy: 45–60 minute sessions with a licensed therapist.
Telehealth sessions: For state-regulated plans, Colorado law requires telehealth to be covered on the same basis as in-person care, with cost sharing no higher than an in-person visit. Self-funded employer plans set their own rules, but most cover video therapy.
Your exact cost depends on your plan, deductible and whether you've met it. We verify your benefits before your first session. You can also call the behavioral health number on your Cigna card or log in at myCigna.com.

Please review our financial policies carefully before your first appointment
We require all insurance information (both primary and secondary) to be uploaded as part of your appointment request. We verify benefits before confirming scheduling to ensure we accurately understand your coverage and can match you with the best-fit therapist for your needs.
We do require a credit card on file for all clients (even if you have Medicaid). The requirement is in case your insurance lapses we have a means to charge for the session. No charges are otherwise allowed for Medicaid. For commercial plans, we will charge the card on file if you have a co-pay.
Appointments canceled within 24 hours or missed without notice will incur the full session fee (we do not charge a fee for Medicaid clients). More than two late cancellations or no-shows within a six-month period may result in termination of care, as consistent attendance is essential for providing ethical and medically necessary treatment.
